Francois was born about 1613, in France, as he was 58 years old in the 1671 Port Royal Census. He died prior to the 1693 Census.

It's believed that he married (1) unknown and had the following children:

  1. Marie (1636-) med (a) Michel Dupuis and (b) Jean Potet
  2. Charles (1639-1714) md Francoise Cousin

He married Edmee-Aimee Lejeune in 1644, in Port Royal. They had the following children:

  1. Marie (1645-1732) md Claude Theriault x 3
  2. Renee (1652-1737) md Jean Labatte
  3. Marguerite (1654-1727) md Jacques-Jacob Girouard x 2
  4. Francois (1657-) md Marie-Sebastienne brun
  5. Claude (1659-1733) md Marie-Elizabeth Theriault x 1

5 Oct 1687: Francois Gautrot signed an attestation in favor of the accomplishments of Governor d'Aulnay; he had thus arrived in Acadia before 1650, the year of d'Aulnay's death. As his first child with the unknown Marie was born cir 1636, he must have arrived before 1636.

2 Dec 1705: Expropriation of a lot "adjoining the side of the old fort," and beloning to Francois Gautrot, for the extension of the fort at Port-Royal. As Francois Gautrot had been dead for over twelve years, one must suppose that his heirs were the actual owners of this land in 1705.
